Life Is Given Once And I Want To Live

‘Life is given once and I want to live.’ said a sorrowful plant.

A boy was observing the beautiful garden. He was feeling fresh around lush green plants and trees. When he came close to an attractive flower and held it into his hand to feel its fragrance. He felt some drops of water fall on his hand.

He was shocked.

Then he asked the flower what was his reason to cry?

It replied that you, human beings are cruel. Even you never realize what injustice you do to us. You hurt us by plucking our petals and leaves. You separate us from our family members.  You know that we are withered after plucking.

However, you do this without any realization.

The boy also became emotional to hear this. After this, he moved ahead and sat under the shadow of a tree and was still thinking about the flower’s words.

Then he heard another downhearted voice. He saw here and there. When he saw the tree, it was sniveling.

Suddenly, he stood up with shock.

He asked it, ‘What happened?’

It answered that you, humans harm us by cutting our branches and trunk. Even you know we provide you with food and fruits. We provide oxygen which is very important for you. You are materialistic because you cut our parts for your own benefits such as to build houses, factories and many other things.

Don’t you know how important we are in your lives?

My grandfather used to say that human beings are the best creation but what if they even don’t consider others’ lives and emotions.

The tears started rolling on boy’s cheeks. Then he was walking.

Unintentionally, he trampled a plant. It screamed with pain. He saw that the plant is quite damaged.

He apologized. Then, he watered that plant.

He asked with inner guilt, ‘Why are you so upset? Did you not forgive me?’

It replied, ‘You did it by mistake and also apologized but most of the humans like you do it intentionally and never feel sorry for their mistakes. They enjoy damaging our families. They pull our newly born leaves and fully-grown flowers, which is very painful for us. Plants make the air fresh but I think they don’t want fresh air. They don’t empathize with us.’ He agreed to its point with embarrassment.

He started walking and suddenly fell down.

Opening his eyes in his bedroom, he realized that it was a dream. Then, he shared his dream with his father. His father acknowledged that it is very painful for plants and trees when we hurt them. We are no one to harm them and make their family members separated and dead.

They are also living like us. We can easily breathe due to plants as they give us oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide to sustain the ecosystem.

His father further added, ‘If I pick you up and throw you down, you will definitely feel pain. Similarly, they also feel pain, when we cut or pull their parts. So, my son! Always remember that trees and plants are pride of our earth.’

He got it and promised himself and his father never to pluck the flowers and hurt the delicate trees and plants.

He intended to share the beautiful lesson with his friends that will keep the earth beautiful ever.
